REGULAR MEETING July 12, 2010

The Regular Meeting of the Village Council was called to order by President Pro Tem Kevin Eggleston due to the absence of President Todd Nighswander at 7:00 p.m.

Trustees Present: Connie Sieler, Karla Bocskay, Donna Holubik,
Mike Gilson & Dave Rogers

Minutes of the Regular Meeting were read and approved.

Motion: Gilson to approve the Treasurer’s Report for May & June.
2nd: Bocskay Carried

Due to Village Superintendent’s vacation, there was no report.

Building Inspector reports for May and June reviewed.

Police Reports for May and June reviewed.

Planning Commission minutes reviewed and placed on file.

There was no report from Village President Nighswander.

May & June overtime was reviewed and placed on file.

Fiscal Year Audit for 2009-10 reviewed.

Upcoming Village Election discussed. Nominating petitions are available for the following positions: Village President 2 year term, Village Trustee 2 yr. term, Three Village Trustee terms for 4 years. Completed petitions are to be turned in to
The Township Clerk, Shirley Soldwish by 4 p.m. on August 10, 2010 to be on the ballot for the November 2, 2010 election.

Various correspondence was read and placed on file.

REGULAR MEETING May 3, 2010

The Regular Meeting of the Village Council was called to order by President Todd Nighswander at 7:00 p.m.

Trustees Present: Connie Sieler, Karla Bocskay, Donna Holubik,
                             Kevin Eggleston, Mike Gilson & Dave Rogers
                Guests: Dean Earts

Minutes of the Regular Meeting were read and approved.

Motion: Sieler to approve the Treasurer’s Report for April.
2nd: Eggleston Carried

Village Superintendent’s report given by Steve Shields. A sign for Park Street was requested for a Children at Play. It was clarified that there are stop signs on Bacon Street at Park Street. It was erroneous reported at the last meeting that there were no stop signs at Bacon and Park Street.

There was no Building Inspector report.

There was no Police Report.

Planning Commission minutes reviewed and placed on file. Trustee Bocskay stated that Tim Anderson from Region II would be attending the June 7^th Planning Commission meeting.

There was no report from Village President Nighswander.

April overtime was reviewed and placed on file.

Discussion held on sending information letter to residents regarding the timeline of the Filtration Plant project with projected financial information.

Motion: Bocskay to change the July Village Council to July 12th due to the July 4th holiday.
2nd: Nighswander Carried

The Regular Meeting of the Village Council was called to order by President
Todd Nighswander at 7:00 p.m.

Trustees Present: Connie Sieler, Karla Bocskay, Donna Holubik,
Kevin Eggleston, Mike Gilson & Dave Rogers
Guests: Sue Hammersmith, Cheryl Duval, & Dean Earts

Sue Hammersmith President of the Lenawee Community Foundation presented the Village of Deerfield with a plaque acknowledging the formation of the Deerfield Area Foundation.

Minutes of the Regular Meeting were read and approved.

Motion: Sieler to approve the Treasurer’s Report for March.
2nd: Eggleston Carried

There was no Village Superintendent’s report.

Building Inspector reports reviewed for February and March.

Police Report reviewed and placed on file.

There were no Planning Commission minutes available for the meeting.

Village President Nighswander gave his report.

Motion Eggleston to donate $1,000.00 to the Patriot Youth Sports Recreation Program and $2000.00 to the Deerfield Senior Citizens.
2nd: Holubik Carried

March overtime was reviewed and placed on file.

Proclamation read proclaiming April 18-24^th as National Volunteer Week.

Motion: Bocskay to donate $500.00 to the OMNI III program.
2nd: Gilson Carried

Correspondence read from Scott Rau and placed on file.

REGULAR MEETING March 8, 2010

The Regular Meeting of the Village Council was called to order by President Todd Nighswander at 7:00 p.m.

Trustees Present: Connie Sieler, Karla Bocskay, Donna Holubik,
                             Kevin Eggleston, Mike Gilson & Dave Rogers
                Guests: Bruce Caswell

Bruce Caswell who is running for the State Senate 16th Senate District spoke to the Village Council.

Minutes of the Regular Meeting were read and approved.

Motion: Nighswander to approve the Treasurer’s Report for February provided information is corrected in the April report.
2nd: Holubik Carried

Village Superintendent’s report given by Supt. Hyder for February activity.

There was no Building Inspector report.

Police Report reviewed and placed on file.

Planning Commission minutes for February reviewed and placed on file.Future meetings of the Planning Commission will begin at 5:00 p.m. on the first Monday of the month preceding the Village Council Meeting. Due to Spring Break and attendance issues, the next meeting has been scheduled for April 12th.

February overtime was reviewed and placed on file.

Public Hearing held for the 2010-2011 Budget and Property Tax millage rate.

Motion: Eggleston to levy 10 mils General Fund for the 2010-11 Fiscal Year.
2nd: Gilson Carried

Motion: Sieler to approve the 2010-2011 Budget as presented.
2nd: Rogers Carrie

Correspondence reviewed from Franz Koch and placed on file.

Motion: Bocskay to change the next regular council meeting to April 12th beginning at 7:00 p.m.
2nd: Nighswander Carried
